Zipper

Room sighs purple smoke
your eyes cut through it
shoulder push
against brick after brick
until we both hear something break
{teacup silhouette
copper wire heart
clock hand smirk
spare button under boot heel}
unzip your left hand
hold the trigger in your right
this isn’t code
just a letter in the mirror
read backwards and forwards
folded and folded
on the brink of ripping
forgive me,
I’m not used to letting go like this
but for starters
why don’t you borrow every book
and forget to give some of them back?
